What is Internet?
- The Internet is a global network of networks that interconnects or connects billions of devices world-wide.
- The Internet is the largest or vast network in all over the world. It connects billions of people and devices spread across the globe. It allows us to connect, explore, share and learn with fellow human beings from around the world.
What is Deep Web?
- The deep web is a network of interconnected and archived databases.
- A database is a collection or group of data and information that is organized in a manner. So, that it can be retrieved quickly and efficiently. The deep web contains databases for sensitive information such as stolen credit card numbers, government secrets, illegally obtained copies of copyrighted materials, child pornography, and more.
- The deep web has been around since in the starting days of the Internet when the (WWW) World Wide Web was still being developed.
- Since then all kinds of information have been found on the deep web because it's not indexed by search engines resulting in more anonymity for users than on the surface web where content can be found with a simple keyword search.
- The deepest part of the deep web is called "the underworld" which only accessible through special software such as TOR (The Onion Router)
What is Dark Web?
- The dark web is not a place where you go for fun. It's a vast, unregulated space on the internet that is used to buy and sell anything from illegal drugs, guns, counterfeit goods to hacking tools.
- On the dark web, it’s possible to buy any type of drug imaginable and have it delivered right to your door – no questions asked. All you need are Bitcoins (a cryptocurrency) and an anonymous email address.
- The dark web exists because its users – typically cybercriminals – seek protection from law enforcement agencies as well as political or social institutions which might oppose their activities. It’s like someone who flees a country with an oppressive leader for the chance of freedom in another land.
